The X Wing has been designed in Perth and Mandurah by Phil "Bugs" Smith and the Flamingo team and tested throughout WA from Margs to Gnarloo. 

The design mandate was to build a robust wing to withstand a knock about with a huge focus on predictable & stable flagging in the surf and down-winding with a race-style upwind performance to tack back upwind or to the start of the lineup for "just one more" bump or wave or what every you choose. 

Testing by the Flamingo Team and local communities has confirmed we got exactly what we asked for.

    This is my first wing with a boom, and I’m hooked! It’s definitely better than handles—you can easily adjust the wing’s power by simply moving your hand, making it much easier to pump for take-offs. Riding with one hand is super cool too!

    I’m mainly into wave riding, so I need a wing that delivers excellent upwind performance and an amazing feeling in the surf. The Flamingo Wing nails it on both fronts! I only use the boom for surfing, and it feels incredibly intuitive. Love it!
